About the Role


As a Tech Brand Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating efforts from the people and technology that define engineering at Uber, primarily for open source technologies ( &


Similar to other program management roles within engineering, a successful person in this role adeptly juggles multiple priorities, looking to make the largest long term impact while still completing day-to-day deadlines. Strong organizational, tracking, and triaging skills are key to the successful execution of this role.



What you'll do


  • Help manage the cross-functional strategic planning and execution of open source processes, with key stakeholders from engineering, engineering security and legal to other areas of Tech Brand this will touch.
  • Manage internal open source processes, from licensing to code releases
  • Manage Uber's Engineerin blog
  • Manage Tech events and Tech talks
  • Manage community outreach


What you'll need


  • Ability to understand technical designs, challenges, and risks, and where to look or ask if you don’t know; ideally, you’ve worked with engineering and product teams in other capacities.
  • Technical background (engineering or computer science degree, or equivalent work experience), with experience with git version control, Github, and scripting in languages like Python.
  • Strong communication skills, notably an ability to influence and motivate people across a broad variety of job functions
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks at once without losing sight of the highest priority items

Tech Brand is a cross-functional set of programs responsible for telling the story of Uber's technology by showcasing the work of our engineers through the Uber Engineering Blog, open source work, and community events. We empower people within the company to tell our technology story.
