About Vehicle Solutions


The mission of Uber’s Vehicle Solutions business is to lower the barriers to becoming an Uber driver-partner by increasing accessibility to a vehicle. Vehicle Solutions delivers on that mission globally today through a number of products, including direct flexible leases, vehicle rentals, and vehicle financing options. In the U.S., our direct flexible lease program is Xchange Leasing.


We are re-inventing the way driver-partners can access the opportunity to work with Uber and empowering those with little or no upfront capital.

  • As Head of Vehicle Solutions (VS) in APAC, you will have a chance to set the VS strategy within the region, shape innovative ways to create value, and structure products that benefit drivers, partners, and Uber. This role will have significant impact on the strategic initiatives that are critical to scaling Uber’s supply in cities across the region.
  • This is a ground floor opportunity to join the international VS team and build a team within APAC

Job Description

What you'll do:


  • Set regional VS strategy, including determining which markets to enter, what products to offer, and which types of partners to deliver the solution through. 
  • Operationalize businesses we launch by hiring and managing local teams, with a strong focus on growth marketing and operations.
  • Directly lead and manage Uber’s capital-owned leasing business in Singapore (Lion City Rentals) and rentals business in Vietnam (Vietnam Car Rentals). 
  • Partner with the AP business development team to set partner strategy and co-lead deal negotiation and execution
  • You will own relationships with some of our most strategic partners, including C-suite contacts at major rentals, banks, and car manufacturing companies as well as smaller local companies
  • You will structure innovative growth marketing strategies that best suit our drivers and implement them with the partners' marketing teams and prioritize initiatives based on highest potential impact
  • You will work closely with product, legal, business development, and engineering teams to find innovative ways to further improve strategic partners' experience with Uber
  • Scale the account management function. Help design processes, structure, and tools to effectively grow account management and bring insights as we grow our team
  • Ability to lead a team of 150+ employees


What you need:

  • A minimum of 12 years experience
  • Ability to develop and implement a strategy across up to 20 countries at scale
  • Experience with establishing, maintaining and demonstrating senior level relationships at partner institutions
  • Ability to influence and develop business relationships, and go toe-to-toe with C-suite executives to negotiate the best deal for Uber and drivers
  • Financial acumen and the ability to create models and evaluate the financial terms of deals
  • Ability to fuse business, strategy, finance, business development, policy, and legal concepts to lead complex, multi-faceted deals
  • Experience working with auto or finance companies
  • Strong code of ethics and sound business judgment is a requirement
  • Backgrounds in banking or consulting desired
  • MBA a plus
