About The Role

We are currently searching for a Sr. Counsel, Global Compliance who will continue the work of building  an effective compliance program for all of Uber. This is a great opportunity to join a growing team and to work on cutting edge issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment. What You’ll Do

  • Work directly with Uber’s Associate General Counsel to integrate an effective compliance program, including providing employees with clear policies and procedures
  • Craft high-impact awareness, education, and training for internal client groups (including both e-learning courses and live training sessions)
  • Manage effective and practical compliance counseling and advice
  • Identifying compliance risks and successfully driving mitigation efforts, and overseeing internal investigations of alleged misconduct  


What You’ll Need

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in private practice, government service, and/or in-house role. Technology and international experience strongly preferred
  • Law degree from an accredited institution and membership in good standing in at least one state bar is required
  • Experience with the Foreign Corruption Practices Act and/or comparable anti-corruption rules and regulations; international competition laws and regulations; and global data privacy laws
  • Experience conducting compliance-related investigations, either in-house, with the government or at a global law firm
  • Superior analytical and legal skills, mature judgment and innovative thinking
  • Dynamic and resilient individual with the demonstrated ability to make decisions and influence, persuade and build consensus
  • Demonstrated effectiveness operating in complex organizational environments and self-starter qualities
  • Familiarity with the global framework affecting the technology industry, such as  international laws governing technology, interactions with government institutions and government officials, antitrust and competition issues
  • Unquestioned integrity and ethics in business and personal conduct                                          
  • Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills to inspire and influence employees at every level to embrace compliance initiatives
  • Able and willing to travel internationally
  • Fluency in English is required (secondary language skills are highly preferred)
