About the team

The Customer Security Experience team is part of Uber’s Engineering Security organization.  We build customer-facing solutions that tackle real world security concerns at scale, and our team is charged with creating secure, seamless, and consistent customer identity and authentication experiences that enable all of Uber’s products globally.  We are ambitious, engaged, and excited about transforming the way to protect customers and their data, building customer trust, and advancing the industry.

 

What you’ll do

As a frontend engineer on our team, you’ll have a direct impact on our identity and authentication customer experiences.  You will work in multidisciplinary teams to build web properties and tooling that enable customers across all our products (including riders, drivers, eaters and more) and markets.  These web properties must not only scale to support millions of unique visitors a month from every continent on the planet, they must also handle rapid change and experimentation in a sustainable way.  Your passion and drive will help Uber maintain and grow user trust as we deliver features that protect our customers while providing seamless and delightful experiences.

 

What you’ll need

  • Web technologies skills. You're excited to work in a modern frontend stack and have 6+ years of experience with Node.js, React/Redux or similar technologies. You're energized by the amazing pace that the web continues to evolves. You seek new methods and tools to make great websites faster and better, both on the frontend and backend.
  • Architecture skills. You know how to build highly scalable, robust, and fault-tolerant services that support our unique rate-of-growth requirements. You stay up-to-date with the latest architectural trends.
  • Design and business acumen. Whether you're working on an API used by other developers, an internal tool consumed by our operation teams, or a feature used by millions of customers, your attention to details results in a delightful user experience.
  • Continuous learning. You flourish with new technologies and don't believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. You can adapt to meet the needs of our massive scale, growth, and evolving business environment.
