About the Role

 

At Uber, Insurance dictates our ability to operate, to expand into new geographies, and to open new lines of business- it's an integral part of the business. The Claims Advocate investigates and manages incident reports and claims for compensation from beginning to end.  

 

This includes documenting incidents, evaluating losses for coverage under insurance, and submitting / monitoring claims with third party insurers. The role interacts with claimants, drivers, passengers, attorneys, insurers, and third party claims administrators throughout the claims management process.

What You’ll Do

 

  • Manage an inventory of claims to evaluate covered losses and liability exposure
  • Investigate new claims by reviewing first reports of loss and supporting materials to determine the best initial contact; communicate with claimants, drivers, passengers, witnesses, etc.
  • Advocate for claims on behalf of claimants
  • Establish action plan based on case facts, best practices, protocols, regulatory issues and available resources

 

What You’ll Need

 

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent    
  • Minimum 3 years of liability claims handling experience with strong preference for auto liability experience
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to provide information in a clear and concise manner and to communicate with a variety of individuals.
  • Extraordinary attention to detail
  • Effective analytical skills to gather information, analyze facts and make recommendations based upon information collected

 

About the Team

 

The Claims team provides exceptional customer service through a variety of communication methods. The team also interacts with claimants, drivers, riders, attorneys, insurers, third party claimants, claims administrators, and internal teams to ensures optimal handling of claims throughout the process.
