Job Description

About the Role

As a Fabricator, you will help physically put together the complex puzzle that is Autonomous Vehicles.  You will be directly assign tasks, work and overall manage the shop.


What You’ll Do


  • Work with the machine shop manager to continually review and improve shop practices and efficiency
  • Maintain and repair equipment as necessary, implement upgrades.
  • Maintain inventory of metals, equipment, machine parts, hand tools, and and daily shop consumables.  Actively involved in purchasing.
  • Responsible for maintaining monthly/yearly maintenance schedules of all shop equipment
  • Packaging and delivery of finished parts to all departments of ATG Pittsburgh and local service providers
  • Operate machinery as needed to facilitate ever changing workload


  • UATG to provide in-house training for:
    • 3D printers
    • Laser Cutter
    • Powder Coating
    • Waterjet


What You’ll Need


  • General understanding of fabrication equipment
  • Unyielding dedication to safety and able to positively represent the company’s safety culture
  • Knowledge on the use of basic hand tools and finishing equipment
  • Nack for rebuilding and troubleshooting mechanical components
  • Certified in operating a forklift
  • Highly organized and creative problem solver
  • Capable of working independently to quickly overcome challenges without supervision
  • Proficient in communicating with other technicians and engineers
  • ability to lift 30-40 pounds

Our hardware team's role is to develop and integrate UBER self-driving technologies into existing and future vehicle platforms of multiple OEM’s at scale.
