About the Role


At Uber, we pride ourselves on the amazing team we’ve built. The driver behind all our growth, our bold and disruptive brand, and the game-changing technology we bring to market is the people that make Uber well, uber.

We are looking for a senior leader for our newly formed marketing and advertising legal team.  The right person is eager for a challenge and ready to build.  This position will be based at Uber’s headquarters in San Francisco, CA, or in New York, NY and will report to the head of our marketing and advertising legal team.


What You'll Do

  • Develop, update and implement enterprise marketing legal guidelines, policies and processes
  • Review advertising and other promotional materials for legal and regulatory issues, as well as advise on media/content rights and required clearances/releases
  • Oversee Uber’s social media activities from a marketing legal perspective
  • Serve as a subject matter expert within Uber for marketing law and relevant regulatory issues, including by staying up to date on marketing legal developments and conducting internal trainings on relevant issues


What You'll Need

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience combination of law firm and in-house experience
  • Substantial marketing law experience (FTC Act and guidance, CAN SPAM, TCPA, NAD case reports, UDAAP, state promotions laws, etc…)
  • Global experience in addition to US experience a plus
  • Excellent business judgment, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated, efficient, organized, and detail focused
  • Able to juggle multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced environment, both collaborating as a team to stay in sync and working independently to get the job done
  • Calm in deadline-driven and high-pressure situations
  • Self-reliant and able to prioritize workload
  • Enthusiastic about Uber!

About the Team


Fostering compliance with marketing and advertising laws; counseling on various marketing and promotional initiatives, including cause marketing, sweepstakes and contests, digital and affiliate marketing, and social media; working on marketing, promotional and sponsorship agreements; and helping Uber promote its brand and communicate to riders, drivers, and the public at large about its products and services.
